Hand Carved Elephants
One of the best things about Thailand? The elephants! One of the best experiences I had was spending a day at The Elephant Sanctuary in Chiang Mai, Thailand. A true sanctuary for injured and abused elephants where no riding is strictly enforced. Each wooden elephant was hand carved by a mahout (A man dedicated to caring for the elephant) who works at the sanctuary and was named after their charge.
